For nearly 2 years, the Covid-19 pandemic has directly or indirectly sent a shockwave through all business sectors. The whole world has since realized the need to adapt our economic concern and daily routine to suit public hygiene requirements, and thus the “New Normal” paradigm was born. At the same time, the film industry witnesses rapid technological transformations and advancements that demand equally rapid adaptability skills that rely on proactive thinking and professional risk management. In every crisis there is an opportunity. Thailand has reopened to the world since November 1, 2021, under the belief that we can live our lives alongside Covid-19 while restarting our economy and the tourism industry. The content industry is part of the reopening plan and an important sector that can facilitate the country’s rebooting efforts.
The 7th Bangkok ASEAN Film Festival in December 2021 is a great opportunity for film professionals in Thailand and Southeast Asia, as well as our friends in other ASEAN countries, to restart the industry and join forces to drive Asian cinema to its bright and sustainable future.
